Kindergarten Curriculum

This time in a child’s life is crucial for developing fundamental learning abilities, and it provides an important basis for future achievement.

At Kindergarten 2 our students follow a play-based programme designed to spark their curiosity and develop a lifelong love of learning. Alongside social, emotional and group work skills; self-awareness and respect; and language, early literacy and numeracy skills, this year of learning helps our two-year-olds get familiar with school life and transition smoothly into further years of education.

From Kindergarten 3, our curriculum is developed through the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). It nurtures children’s natural curiosity through Units of Inquiry, and provides ongoing opportunities to explore, acquire essential knowledge and skills, and develop positive attitudes. Our play/inquiry based programme develops communication and socialisation skills and prepares students well for future learning opportunities.

Kindergarten 2

Children follow the Kindergarten 2 programme designed to help them get used to coming to school and transition smoothly into further years of education. They gain:

  • Social and emotional skills
  • Self-awareness and respect
  • Language, early literacy and numeracy skills
  • Group work skills

Kindergarten 3

Children study four Units of Inquiry under the transdisciplinary themes of:

  • Who we are
  • Where we are in place and time
  • How we express ourselves
  • How the world works

Kindergarten 4

Children also study four Units of Inquiry under the transdisciplinary themes of:

  • Who we are
  • How we express ourselves
  • How we organise ourselves
  • Sharing the planet
