Music Week 2018

It’s been a MAD week at ACG School Jakarta! By MAD we mean the Music, Art and Drama in the shape of the MAD Extravaganza in Secondary. The MAD Extravaganza and also the Primary Concert were part of Music Week. Each day started with some interesting music being played through our public address system, there were small performances at break and lunch times during the week and guest speakers came to talk to Secondary students about music performance and potential pathways on Friday morning. At the Primary Concert, each Homeroom performed their chosen song, where some were pop songs and others traditional Indonesian songs. The concert finale was the whole of Primary on the stage singing together. For the Secondary MAD Extravaganza, the IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts and IGCSE Art & Design students had their works exhibited and spoke to their motivation. Also, all of the Year 7 to 9 students performed pieces which they had been working on in their Drama classes. Even the IB Diploma Programme and A Level Literature students performed – a reworked ending to A View From the Bridge, which was written by one of the students (well done Toby!). During the afternoon there was a band from each of the school Houses performing too, with some interludes of poetry, ballet and juggling!
