On Monday, 4 February, ACG School Jakarta had an assembly to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Led by Marsha from Year 6 and Da Yeon from Year 10, the event began with a student video explaining Korean traditions during the new year celebration, followed by a bowing ceremony conducted by Year 1 students wearing traditional Korean clothing called Hanbok.
Instead of the Barongsai performers we’ve had in years past, the committee decided to try something new. They invited a traditional Chinese puppet show to perform a story of the origin of wearing the colour of red during Lunar New Year. Students and teachers wore traditional or red clothing to celebrate the day.
