Learner Profile Focus for March : Thinkers

During the month of March, we celebrate the learner profile THINKERS. According to IB, thinkers is using your critical and creative thinking skills to analyse and take responsible action on complex problems. In school environment, teachers helping students to develop better thinking strategies by prompting a question before they start new unit or by telling the students to do research. Part of critical thinking is knowing when to pursue and when to discard information.

Identify a problem you have in your everyday life, think about it and create a solution or invention. For example, one student noticed his pencil always rolled off his desk when he opened it, another noticed socks slip down inside her boots, yet another wanted to find a way to protect a sucker that she wanted to save for later. By developing students critical thinking skills we help them to be a better problem solver.
