Flag Rising Ceremony

On the 17th of each month, we have a flag rising ceremony led by one of our year levels. We pay respect to our host country, Indonesia, who celebrate their independence on 17 August. We are an inclusive school, and as such, we encourage all students to act as the officers of the ceremony, not only our Indonesian students. As part of the ceremony, we sing the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” which helps our Indonesian students memorize their national anthem and exposes other students to it as well. Through this event, we aim to build students’ leadership, collaboration and nationalism.
