Primary school

Primary school

Our curriculum is developed through the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). It nurtures children’s natural curiosity through Units of Inquiry and provides ongoing opportunities to explore, acquire essential knowledge and skills, and develop positive attitudes. Our inquiry-based programme develops communication and socialisation skills and prepares students well for future learning opportunities.

Units of inquiry

In years 1–6, our students engage in six Units of Inquiry throughout the year, exploring, researching and investigating the central ideas of each unit. We extend their learning beyond the classroom with regular excursions.

The transdisciplinary themes of the PYP are:

  • Who we are
  • Where we are in place and time
  • How we express ourselves
  • How the world works
  • How we organise ourselves
  • Sharing the planet
Single-subject classes

In primary school, we focus on the building blocks of education – literacy and numeracy – but also offer single-subject classes to give our students
every advantage as they progress through their education.

Single-subject classes:

  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Visual Arts
  • Swimming
  • Bahasa Indonesia
  • Chinese (Mandarin)
